| Supervised Visitation & Exchange Program "Where Children Come First." To assure that children can develop and maintain healthy relationships with their parents, all visits and exchanges are supervised and documented by trained visitation supervisors. |
|
|
| Supervised Visitation is a way for non-custodial parents to
spend time with their child in the presence of a third party
observer. This type of visitation is often required when there are
issues of abuse, neglect or family violence. It may also be
necessary for a parent who is just getting to know his or her child or
where there are concerns that have made it difficult for the non-custodial
parent to be allowed access to the children. The frequency, length
and setting of the visits is determined by the needs of the child. Supervised Custody Transfers can be very helpful to parents who are concerned about their children witnessing conflict between their parents. A third party is available to observe the transfer of a child from a custodial parent to a non-custodial parent and vice versa. The custody transfer could also allow the parties not to meet at all by providing a delay between drop off and pick up of the child. This service is particularly helpful to families under protection orders or when there is a history of domestic violence. Visitation Negotiation: Our visitation coordinator often works with parents to establish a visitation schedule, or to negotiate details and/or temporary changes to an already established schedule. The visitation coordinator also works through the Child Support Office to assist families in developing visitation plans. |
